Practice Areas

I handled my first appeal to the New Hampshire Supreme Court nearly thirty years ago.  Since then, I have handled more than 150 appeals, which places me among the most experienced appellate lawyers in the state.  I have won reversals of murder and sexual assault convictions, and have won appeals on grounds of statutory construction, constitutional error, and insufficiency of the evidence.  In addition, I am one of only two New Hampshire-based fellows of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and have taken select cases to the First Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States.

As the past Chair of the State’s Professional Conduct Committee, I presided over numerous cases of alleged attorney misconduct.  For my work, I received the Bar President’s Award for Outstanding Service to the Profession.  Before serving on the PCC, I was a member of the Complaint Screening Committee for nine years.
